Local clubs benefit from apprentice walk

Dounreay apprentices’ annual sponsored walk from the site to Thurso has raised £1,350 for local charities and clubs.

Radio Remedy, Pentland Firth Yacht Club and the Girl Guiding Caithness Centenary Fund each received cheques for £450.

"Over the last seven years the apprentices have probably raised around £14,000 for local charities through their sponsored walks," said DSRL apprentice manager Jim Swan.

Jim was unable to participate in the walk, and he thanked his assistant Carol Robertson, together with Terry Johnson, Scotty Miller, Craig Shearer and Doug Mackenzie, who all pitched in to help.
