Dounreay is inviting the public to attend a drop-in meeting to discuss its proposed low-level waste disposal facilities on Tuesday July 1 between 7pm and 9pm in Reay Village Hall.
Decommissioning Dounreay produces low-level waste that needs to be managed.
A planning application was orginally submitted in June 2006 for new disposal facilities at Dounreay.
The period for determination of this application was extended to allow the Scottish Environment Protection Agency to fully assess the supporting documentation as part of its role as statutory consultee to Highland Council.
Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd re-activated the planning application for the facilities on May 23, 2008 and Highland Council has restarted its consultation process on the planning application for the proposed development.
The drop-in meeting is an opportunity to see the submiited plans, raise any questions and discuss any issues.
